Publication Ethics

Quagga: Journal Pendidikan dan Biologi is a scientific publication that contains research results in the field of Computer Science and Technology that have never been published. This statement of the scientific code of ethics is a statement of the code of ethics of all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely managers, editors, bestari partners / reviewers, and authors. This statement of the code of ethics for scientific publications is based on the Peraturan Kepala LIPI Nomor 5 Tahun 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications. Ethics of Scientific Publications essentially upholds three ethical values in publications, namely

  1. Neutrality, that is, free from conflicts of interest in the management of publications;
  2. Justice, namely giving authorship rights to those who are entitled as authors/writers; and
  3. Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor in Chief :

  1. Determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, permanence, and accreditation if necessary.
  2. Determine the membership of the editor.
  3. Defines the relationship between publishers, editors, peer reviewers, and other parties.
  4. Respect confidential matters, whether for contributing researchers, authors/writers, editors, or peer reviewers.
  5. Apply norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
  6. Review journal policies and communicate them to authors/authors, editors, peer reviewers, and readers.
  7. Create code behavior guidelines for editors and peer reviewers.
  8. Publish journals regularly.
  9. Ensuring the availability of sources of funds for the sustainability of journal publishing.
  10. Build a network of cooperation and marketing.
  11. Improving the quality of the journal.
  12. Preparing for licensing and other legality aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

  1. The editor provides comments on the author's writing so that readers can understand what the author wants to convey, through comments written on the manuscript and or discussion facilities on the journal's website.
  2. Editors comment on the author's writing in accordance with the EYD (Enhanced Spelling) language or the language that complies with the standardization of the journal.
  3. Editors strive to improve the quality of publications on an ongoing basis;
  4. Editors put forward free speech objectively,
  5. Editors submit corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies if necessary,
  6. The editor ensures that the author's writing does not concern SARA or anything that can harm the publisher and coordinates the author's writing to the editor-in-chief of the publisher if the writing is a little controversial.
  7. Editors receive, review, and follow up on complaints from all parties involved in journal publishing;
  8. Editors support initiatives to educate researchers on publication ethics,
  9. Editors do not defend their own opinions, authors or third parties which may result in non-objective decisions,
  10. Editors encourage writers to improve their work until it is worthy of publication.
  11. The editor layouts the manuscript to be published so that it matches the journal template.
  12. Editors assist editors in chief in finalizing manuscript sets before they are printed and published, especially in terms of language, format and layout.

Duties and Responsibilities of Mitra Bestari

  1. Provide objective and unbiased written feedback on the scientific value and contribution of the manuscript to the development of science;
  2. Indicates whether the manuscript writing is sufficiently clear, complete, and relevant, and whether the manuscript fits within the scope of the journal;
  3. Do not provide criticism or comments of a personal nature; and
  4. Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript, by not discussing it with unrelated parties, or disclosing the information contained in the manuscript to other parties.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Author

  1. Ensuring that the submitted manuscripts are the original work of the authors.
  2. Submitted manuscripts are not in the process of being reviewed by other publishers or are not being sent simultaneously to other publishers.
  3. The author is responsible for every business process of the journal until the manuscript is published.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Website Administrator

Website Administrator is the person responsible for the management of the journal's website. Specifically, the scope of the Website Administrator's duties is as follows:

  1. Set up a journal website;
  2. Configure system options and manage user accounts;
  3. Register for editors, reviewers, and writers;
  4. Manage journal features;
