LITERACY MOVEMENT TOWARDS NEGLASARI KAHIJI THROUGH THE READ ALOUD PROGRAM TO INCREASE HDI IN EDUCATION IN NEGLASARI VILLAGE, CIKALONGKULON DISTRICT

ABSTRACT
In order to improve quality human resources, efforts to improve quality education on an ongoing basis continue to be fought for. This is because education has a major impact in shaping quality human resources. One of the efforts in improving the quality of education is through improving literacy culture. However, when viewed from an international context, Indonesia is in an alarming position. Indonesia's literacy level is ranked 73 out of 78 countries surveyed by PISA. Thus, the purpose of this service is to build interest in reading literacy in students by conducting read aloud counseling. This type of service is descriptive using a qualitative approach which is carried out into three stages, namely the preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. This service involved 224 students of class VIII of SMPN 1 Cikalongkulon. Data collection uses observation and interview methods. The results of this service show that the results of the read aloud training can foster interest in reading literacy among SMPN 1 Cikalongkulon students.
