ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi siswa dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menulis dalam teks recount melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 2 Sindangagung kabupaten Kuningan tahun pelajaran 2023/2024. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui observasi dan tes. Sebelum proses pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model Problem Based Learning berada pada kategori rendah dengan nilai rata rata 58,13 dan setelah penerapan Problem Based Learning terjadi peningkatan motivasi dengan nilai rata rata adalah 77,98 dan termasuk dalam kategori nilai yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan aktifitas pembelajaran, motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar siswa.

THE APPLICATION OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING TO IMPROVE STUDENT’S MOTIVATION IN WRITING SKILL LEARNING OF RECOUNT TEXT

 

ABSTRACT

This research aims to improve student’s motivation in writing skill of recount text by applying Problem Based Learning model. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the reasearch was the eight graders of SMPN 2 Sindangagung in Kuningan regency in the academic year of 2023/2024. The research data obtained through observation and test. Student learning motivation before applying the Problem Based Learning model was in the low category with the average height of 58,13 and after applying the Problem Based Learning the average score of students' learning motivation increased to 77,98 which is in the high category. Based on the results of this research it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning model can increase learning activities, learning motivation and students' learning outcomes.
